11. Blog - The Beauty of Scandinavia
(1. September - 9. September 2012 - Hirtshals, Denmark & Norway)
My classtrip started taking a ferry from Hirtshals, Denmark to Kristianssand, Norway, where we spent a week. Of course Sydney didn't want to miss the opportunity to see Scandinavia for the first time. Eventhough she was quite unhappy about the strong wind, that made her hair messy.
After reaching Norway, Sydney discovered her sporty side and went hiking, climbing and exploring caves. She wanted to go swimming, too, but the freezing cold lake in the middle of the forest scared her off.

All in all a fantastic journey for Sydney Travels. :)

10. Blog - A trip to Rome

A few days in Italy with yummy ice cream and warm temperatures? Sounds perfect to Sydney! :) She was completely fascinated by the beautiful architecture and the many legends surrounding the city of Rome.But when it came to the "Mouth of Truth" she was pretty scared. An old legend says when someone, who lied, puts his hand in the Mouth it will bite the person's hand off. Luckily Sydney kept both her hands, but she looked very scared... Is she hiding something from me?!? During the "Angels&Demons" Tour, following the book by Dan Brown,
Sydney got to take pictures in some of the places mentioned in the
book. Can you spot them? ;)

9. Blog - Vienna with Wax Figures

Sydney first big advenure in 2012 was going to Austria's capital - Vienna.
A beautiful city with a lot of culture! Sydney was unstoppable! She visited museums, another Musical this time "Sister Act" and Madame Tussauds. We got so many great pictures of her with famous wax figures, we just had to post a bunch of them! ;)
Nevertheless Vienna was really great and Sydney once more fell in love with a city. :)

8. Blog - New Year's Eve in Berlin
(31. December 2011 - Berlin, Germany)
Sydyney kept her promise and came back to Berlin for New Year's Eve 2011.
These were really special days for her. First she saw "Tanz der Vampire" - The Musical, second the was able to visit the "Reichstag's Dome" and most importantly the saw the beautiful fireworks that welcomed the year 2012 above Berlin's skyline.
Sydney was really glad to experience so many great memories in a bit more than a year and already plans many more for the future! :)

7. Blog - Trip around California
(15. - 25. June 2011 - California, United States of America)
My exchange year was over and Sydney and my mom came back to the U.S. from Germany to come and get me.
But of course we could't leave without new adventures and especially new pictures! ;) So we did a little trip around California.
First we started in Las Vegas and visited some of the famous casinos and malls. Sydney really wanted to try out the arcade games, but she wasn't 21 yet. :/ So she decided to come back in November 2031 and win a million dollars.... I can't wait to see that! ;)
Then we moved on to San Fransisco. Fishermen's Wharf, Alcatraz Island, Aquarium of the Bay... we saw everything! :) And to prove that Sydney posed in front of everthing! ;) She especially liked the Golden Gate Bridge and was really scared when I put her into on of the prison cells. But it turned out to be a cool picture! ;)
San Fransisco is a beautiful city, but we could't stay there forerever, so we drove down the Highway No. 1 and got to Los Angeles. :) Sydney was really excited, because she wanted to see all the celebrities, but then she had to realize that they normally do not hang out at the tourism sights as we did. Nevertheless she got a picture in front of the Hollywood sign. :) Later at the "Walk of Fame" Sydney had to learn that they didn't write her name the wrong way, but she in fact didn't get a star. She was really upset! :(
