(22. Dezember 2010 - Milan, Italy)
Before Christmas Sydney went to Milan for a few days. Sadly she wasn't allowed to buy anything... Sad for her! Good for our wallets! :D
Sydney is an adventurous doll, who started traveling the world in November 2010. Since then fans have been following her journey to numerous countries on Facebook. In July 2012 we introduced this blog to give more people the opportunity to see a bit of the world through Sydney's eyes. If you have a little time left, enjoy the blog and like "SydneyTravels" on Facebook to stay tuned. :)

2. Blog - Arrival in Germany
(14. December 2010 - Northrhine-Westfalia, Germany)
After a long travel in a big envelope Sydney arrived at my parents' house in Germany. Sadly because of the freezing temperatures she got a cold, but that didn't stop her from playing in the snow and admiring the christmas decorations. ;)

1. Blog - The Beginning
(26. November 2010, Arizona - United States of America)
As an exchange student from Germany in the U.S. I spent "Black Friday" in Arizona. While shopping early in the morning, I saw a small toy store and entered.
This was the moment when I first saw a bunch of cheap dolls in ugly clothes. One of the dolls looked at me sadly and suddenly I had the idea of sending this doll around the world, collecting pictures of her in front of famous sights and landscapes.
I was in a good mood and decided to give this idea a chance. So I bought the doll.
Later that day my hostsister, her aunt and I tried to find a name for the doll and the entire project. We discussed a lot of names ranking from really exotic to traditional. Then finally we had the idea to name her after a city. "London" came to our heads, so did "Paris" and "Berlin". But somehow we didn't feel attached to any of those.
After a long period of thinking an image came to my head. Of beautiful coasts, beaches, reefs and exotic animals.
Then I knew what country I aimed the doll to go to. The country whose capital was also her name - "Sydney".
The first picture we took of her was in front of a casino in Las Vegas.
At that time I didn't know how many people would get attached to a little doll and how far she would go. :)
